(Istanbul) – Turkey’s government has all but silenced independent media in an effort to prevent scrutiny or criticism of its ruthless crackdown on perceived enemies, Human Rights Watch said today. The assault on critical journalism sharpened

Trump Tower was buzzing with excitement on Wednesday afternoon as Silicon Valley giant after giant made their way through the golden lobby to meet with the president-elect.

Though much of the meeting is being kept under wraps, video of the meeting room and a short introduction was obtained by Fox News and NowThis Politics.

Peter Thiel’s latest bet

Peter Thiel is the only prominent Silicon Valley figure to publicly support Trump during the election campaign. He famously spoke at the Republican Convention. This is what he said:

Good evening. I’m Peter Thiel. I build companies and I’m supporting people who are building new things, from social networks to rocket ships. I’m not a politician. But neither is Donald Trump. He is a builder, and it’s time to rebuild America.

On Monday morning, Donald Trump formally addressed the CIA’s allegations that Russian hackers tried to interfere in the election on — where else? — Twitter and, as usual, got some basic facts wrong.

DBO writes, “A new report by Deflect Labs tracks the complex ways that hackers have sought to take down the Black Lives Matter website. The attacks, which relied on harvesting WordPress sites, increased in sophistication and left a murky, unsavory trail by actors who did everything from try to extort the website to taking it down entirely.

We need European regulation of Facebook and Google

It’s time for the EU to step in and regulate the world’s two biggest media outlets.

Over the weekend, Facebook sent me a link to a video they had made of my activity on their site over the last year. To my mind, that was more proof, if any were needed, that Facebook is a media company, despite all its protestations.

Usability overtakes design

Responsive design has made news websites look similar. Much more similar. In just a couple years, sites that once looked like distant cousins have turned into siblings. Larger fonts, more white space, and a seemingly limited number of layouts have all contributed to a general feeling of déjà vu. And when a news site unveils its responsive redesign, we can’t help but wonder if we’ve seen it somewhere before. I mean, we have, right?

U.S. Media Mocked Abroad for Reporting False Name of California Shooting Suspect

Major American news outlets, including The Los Angeles Times and Fox News, were ridiculed on Thursday for apparently falling victim to a hoax.

As British forces join a growing list of countries conducting bombing campaigns across Syria, tracking who exactly is bombing where and why is becoming increasingly difficult. Just yesterday, differing groups of activists reported strikes had killed 32 fighters in ISIS-controlled territory, but there were conflicting reports as to who had launched them.

Ayşe Özer: BİR DERDİM VAR BİN DERMANA DEĞİŞMEM #CarsıYanlızDeğildir

http://ift.tt/1uIXXfC

Bir Şeb-i Aruz toplantısıydı.
