The invention of Turkey in 1923 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow officers entailed an imaginative severing from its Ottoman roots. Though the Ottoman rulers had begun to become westernised, the new nation presented itself in opposition to the Ottoman past in policies, dress, writing, manners and speech, and Atatürk himself sought in neglected local traditions a different history from the one the Ottoman rulers had long chosen. The literature that grew from this other past was decidedly modern, and its inspiration came from 19th-century and early 20th-century Europe, especially from France. Baudelaire, Balzac and Zola were found in the libraries of most young Turks.

“ZORUNLU GÖÇ, MÜLTECİLİK VE AYRIMCILIK”

Ülkemiz hem uzak hem de yakın geçmişiyle bireysel ve toplumsal travmaların hemen her çeşidine tanıklık etmiş, türlü acılar ile yoğrulan halklara nesiller boyu yuva olmuştur. Ülkemizde insan eliyle oluşturulan travmaların varlığı azımsanmayacak boyuttadır. Töre cinayetleri, aile içi şiddet, kadın ve nefret cinayetleri, taciz ve tecavüzler, iş kazaları diye geçen ihmal cinayetleri gibi örneklere her gün yenileri eklenmektedir. Bunların yanı sıra sel, deprem gibi afet travmaları ile de karşı karşıya kalmakta ve yaraları sarmaya çabalarken yenilerinin açıldığına üzülerek şahit olmaktayız.
Yakın zamanda açılmış ve halen büyümekte olan bir yara da savaş, zorunlu göç, mültecilik ve ayrımcılık düzleminde kendini göstermektedir. Irak ve Suriye’deki kargaşadan kaçan milyonlarca göçmenin yaşam mücadelesi sürmektedir. Bunun son örneği Ezidiler ve Rojava bölgesinden gelen Kürt göçmenlerin yaşadığı savaş gerçeğidir.

Kalıcı bir hukuki statüden yoksun olmaları nedeniyle çalışma, barınma, eğitim ve sağlık gibi temel insan haklarından yararlanmada sıkıntılar yaşayan, kendilerinin ve özellikle de çocuklarının geleceğine dair haklı kaygılar taşıyan mülteciler ve sığınmacılar arasında psikolojik rahatsızlıkların yaygın hale gelmesi ruh sağlığı uzmanlarını endişelendiren bir durumdur. Benzer sebepler ile intihar teşebbüslerinin sayısında artış olabileceği de kaygı uyandırmaktadır. Ayrıca son yıllarda Suriyeli mültecilerin yoğun olarak bulunduğu bazı illerimizde yaşanan gerginlikler de ayrımcılık olgusunun yaygınlaşmasına yönelik kaygıları artırmaktadır. Geçtiğimiz yıl İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Travma Çalışmaları Programı işbirliğiyle, Bilgi Açık Kapı, İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Psikoloji Kulübü ve Sağlık ve Sosyal Hizmet Emekçileri Sendikası Dersim Şubesi desteğiyle, Dersim’de gerçekleştirdiğimiz
Anadolu Travma Çalışma Günleri’nin ikincisini organize etmeyi anlamlı buluyoruz.

Travmatik olayları tanıma, anlama, anlatma ekseninde mağdurların yaralarını sarmaya katkıda bulunmayı önemsiyor, böyle bir buluşmanın, ruh sağlığı çalışanları ile diğer meslek gruplarından gelen profesyonellere önemli faydaları olacağına inanıyoruz. Biliyoruz ki toplumsal barış ancak insanlar arasında barışın kurulması ile mümkün olabilir.

İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi / Santralistanbul Kampüs’ünde düzenleyeceğimiz bu kongreye değerli ve önemli katkılarınızı bekliyoruz.
