During the 2012 US Presidential election, the Romney campaign was accused of buying fake Twitter followers from a bot network after he gained a whopping ~150,000 new followers in one day.  Romney’s following jumped 17% in one day, providing him with a significant bump in the general perception of his grassroots popularity and support for a paltry ~$2,700 ($18 per thousand followers).

Edward Snowden’s exile in Russia looks set to continue after authorities in the country reportedly signed off on a new three-year visa for the former National Security Agency contractor.

 

Using an open platform like Android means you have to be willing to take the good with the bad. Without stirring up an annoying Android vs iOS debate, it’s a fact that Android plays host to more malware than iOS due, in part, to its open ecosystem.
