A few days in Brugge and Kortrijk…

I have come to Belgium to attend a series of lecture at Howest as part of an Erasmus Exchange program. The program includes a public talk, too:

Lies Vanhaelemeesch and Ellen Taylor were excellent hosts and they are becoming my long time friends as we normally meet in Lisbon on April for 4 years for another project. Lies guided me in a walking tour before I had lectures at Intercultural Communication and Global Business courses. I have met a journalism lecturer Christophe Lagast in Brugge and had a productive chat and now I am in Kortrijk and I am hosted by Bregt Vermeulen whose hospitality I cannot really beat. During the public talk I will also meet with Dirk Vandenberghe

Swans in Brugge are lucky that not many Turks live in the city…

Dirk was kind enough to take me to Ypres, 20 km away from Kortrijk. Ypres is known with IWW paraphernelia through the notorious trench warfare…

Tomorrow morning I will have a lecture on verification issues in social media and I will fly back to Istanbul…
