Deciding to express their disregard to the Kurdish and leftist victims, a sizeable minority chanted nationalist and religious slogans.

“Sağlam kafa sağlam vücutta bulunur” şiarıyla 80 sonrası beden eğitimi dersleri, memlekete aslan gibi erkek evlatlar yetiştirme çabasındaydı. Kız çocuklar pek önemsenmezdi, hatta muhafazakar-mutaassıp mahallerde kız çocuklarına rapor alınırdı, beden dersine girip de orası burası görünmesin diye. Dersin aslı rahat, hazır ol, uygun adım marş, sağa çark, sola çark üzerine kuruluydu. Esas amaç 23 Nisanlarda, 19 Mayıslarda öğretilen abuk subuk hareketleri yaparak, diz altındaki eteklerin fazla açılmasına mahal vermeden görevi tamamlayabilmekti, ya da panonun bir parçası olunduysa kazara, doğru renkteki kartonu kaldırabilmekti.
