Thousands mourn Turkish lawyer’s death
Thousands mourn the death of a prominent pro-Kurdish lawyer, who was shot dead in Turkey’s south-eastern city of Diyarbakir on Saturday.

Funerals also held for two policemen killed in the attack in Diyarbakır, as Turkish PM pledges to catch the killers

Thousands of people have gathered for the funeral of Tahir Elci, a Kurdish lawyer and human rights activist gunned down in Diyarbakır, which has been at the centre of months of violence.

Diyarbakır Bar Association head Tahir Elçi was laid to rest following his Nov. 28 murder during a press conference. The Hürriyet Daily News has arranged photos from the events, including protests of the killing, reactions from Elçi’s loved ones and scenes from the funeral.
